Obituary: Wairarapa Daily Times 10 September 1915: "Sergeant Gerald Sievers, of Clareville, was a well-known Wairarapa hockey player, footballer and boxer. He was recently wounded at the Dardanelles, and later returned to the firing line. His death will be very much regretted."
