"A very popular Mastertonian, in the person of Corporal Guy Mace, has been killed in action. Deceased was the eldest son of Mr W. Mace, of Bramerton, and was held in very high esteem for his many sterling qualities. He was married to a daughter of Mr and Mrs W. H. Cruickshank, of Masterton, and, besides a widow, leaves two young children to mourn their loss. Deceased was killed on March 29th.
