Official launch of Kete Masterton

Kete Masterton was officially launched at an information evening held at the Masterton District Library on the 27th of April 2010. The evening was introduced by acting District Librarian Sandy Green, followed by a presentation on Picture Wairarapa by Archivist Gareth Winter. This in turn was followed by a presentation on Kete Masterton by Community Outreach Librarian Jon Adams.

Invites were sent to a number of local individuals and organisations who were identified as being potential users of Kete Masterton or in a position to publicise it to others. This group included councillors, trust representatives, and principals and teachers from local schools, and a pleasing number were able to attend. A follow up presentation for the general public is being planned.

As part of the promotion of Kete Masterton contact was also made with local newspapers. Kerri Bowling of the Wairarapa Midweek wrote a piece titled Drawing Inspiration which looked in particular at the Homestead Drawing of Des De Stefano and was published on the 13th April 2010. On the 14th of April 2010 the Wairarapa Times Age published an article Kete opens door to world by Jamie Morton.
