Advertisement technique: Burridge's Eagle Brewery is outlined in stem stitch with long and short stitch in the centre. Yellow border is chain stitch, tree trunks in long and short stitch with wool caught to make trees. Two swallows flying are in wool, long and short stitch with beads for eyes. Swallows on dovecot are in embroidery cotton, long and short stitch. Dovecot is appliqué vylene overlayed with georgette, roof is felt, the chimney embroidered. Wood paneling is appliqué with embroidery on it. The post is embroidered. 'Happy swallows no bitterness' is stem stitch.

London Porter label worked by Elizabeth Hedley (nee Burns). Born in 1913 at Stirlingshire, Scotland. Educated at Wairarapa High School, a housewife and mother of two daughters and two sons, Elizabeth is a current Guild member having joined the Embroiderers' Guild in 1982. Her mother was interested in embroidery, and she herself embroidered for her glorybox. Elizabeth enjoys blackwork, cross stitch and chicken scratch, and is interested in sewing, embroidery, gardening, sport and hockey.

Wairarapa Draught Beer label worked by Lil Condon (nee Pickett). Born in 1919 at Auckland and educated at Otahuhu High School, Lil was a dressmaker for nine years before joining the Signal Corps of the Land Army. Her interests include outdoor life, swimming, gardening, tennis, outdoor bowls, sewing, knitting, embroidery, and in particular canvas work.
